MAF sensor on GP 2004 GTP

armed

New member
HI guys. I am going crazy. For the past 3 weeks, my CEL has been on with codes P0069 (Manifold Absolute Pressure - Barometric Pressure Correlation) and P2229 (Barometric pressure circuit high input). I am suspecting MAF sensor, MAP sensor, or both (hopefully not the actual computer).

I wanted to start with the MAF sensor because the RPM plays around when the car is in neutral and when trying to use the remote start feature, it turns on and hesitates then turns off.

I called the dealer and they said the part needs two weeks to arrive. So I called a few other auto parts store and found the MAF sensor. When I got there, they gave me a part that is not the same as mine. I told them this is different. They kept trying to find the right part but this is all the computer gave them as MAF sensor for Pontiac Grand Prix 2004. Same thing at another auto parts store.
Please take a look at the pictures I attached and tell me if I am doing something wrong. Is this the MAF sensor or am I going crazy?!! :th_nervous:
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Update

So I replaced my MAF sensor. I am only getting one code now which is P2229. I am guessing this is the map sensor? Anyone have any knowledge about this? When I took the cover off, I saw two sensors on a bracket to the rear of the the engine. Does it have two MAP sensors?

Re: Update

Yes they are identical sensors one is MAP the other is Barometric Pressure.

Did you ever figure this out?
