MAF going bad after just 8 months??

Hey guys, I replaced my MAF sensor about 8 months ago because it took a crap. Car has run perfectly ever since I replaced the sensor until........

On my way home last night and my check engine light came on. Fired up torque and read the code. P0102 Powertrain- Mass or volume air flow circuit low input. Car appeared to be running fine still so I continued home (couple miles away). Cleared the code when I got home. This morning I started it up and instantly the code came back on. Same exact code. I decided to drive it around and it appeared to be running ok minus the idle was bouncing up and down a bit. I then gave it a little and it started to totally fumble for a few secs. I decided to drive it home to avoid any more complications.

I'm assuming everyone is just going to say "replace the MAF again" which is what I'll probably do. Hopefully I have the receipt because these things are NOT cheap. That just seems crazy that it could go bad in just 8 months.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm assuming this code is for bad MAF, is there anything else I should do?

Thanks for the help !

it's electronic, likely not.

car-part.com I found an origial (aka stock) for Danielle the other day for $20 locally.

Advance can usually look it up..and car-parts.com is good for looking about local junkyard Grand Prixs to get a MAF.

Brought back my bad MAF to Advance auto and they gave me a new one free of charge. They had my record on the computer so I didn't need a receipt. After work I'll put the new one back in and see if that fixes the problem. Hopefully it should. I'll report back.

BTW. That is really cool Advance auto does that !
