lubricate strut mounts?

Is there a way to lubricate the front strut mounts? I think they're seizing up, making creaking noises and vibration when turning the wheel at very low speed. I'd like to just try lubricating them before replacing, since the struts seem otherwise OK. (They're original with 116K miles though.) What happens if you remove that big center bolt at the top, can you take off the rubber piece underneath and inject some grease there?

The strut mount "bearing" is on the very bottom, the spring basically sits on it. You'd have to remove the strut and spring from the mount to get an sort of grease in there. If you took the top nut off with it still all attached and car on the ground, nothing would happen. The rod couldnt move anywhere and putting grease on the rubber on top won't do much of anything.

I would bite the bullet, and replace them after 116k miles. Thats me, i replaced mine on my gp after 62k miles, and on my g6 it was at 91k miles. They say do it every 50k miles, but i think its a race between age, and miles. My 01 had 62k miles, my 08 g6 had 91k miles, i would say every 90-100k miles if the car is not very old.
