ls1 valve spring comprssor



We have rocker bolts as well.

The rocker "bolts" are a different size compared the the rocker "studs" of LSheads.
The valve spacing is also different, as well as the stud/bolt spacing.

Not to say it wont work, im sure you could stud the head then mount the compressor its just more work getting that one to work(which does work well) than buying a cheaper hand turn compressor that will work on just about anything.
 
Ok I understand how the spacing could b different but why would I need to stud the head??? couldn't I just remove the rocker arms and use my rocker bolts to bolt it to the head right over the valves??? It just seems that stud mount is irrelevant in this situation because either way theres gonna have to be holes in the compressor for the studs to go thru so instead of placing the studs there put the rocker bolts...
 


Apparently im the idiot and dont know nuttin, but here is why i belive you cannot use the tool.

For the reasons i listed, and the bolt is not long enough to thread in and compress the springs. You never want to draw on a bolt with only a few threads, it will strip or pull out just like a crank bolt.
You would want a stud to put into the head and then drawn down onto it with a nut/compressor plate of the tool. That compressor has the proper stud (thread pitch length ect, the plate and a nut.
Like i said you can buy longer bolts use them as studs find a nut washer it and try it. Or just buy a cheaper hand compressor that will work on everything.

^^ and thats why it shouldn't be done.

What I was sayin is..yes we have bolts, I didn't know the spacing and correct.. The reminder that we shouldn't draw the bolts down with pressure is a good one that says....we shouldn't use that tool .
 
Ok I got it now... Is there any other option besides the hand crank one or do they fit pretty well on the back head???
