LS1 goes down in flames (part 2)

VerzGTP

Worthless Troll
I was out cruisin' the main drag for a little bit here in town the other night in the GTP. And I come up behind a red LS1 Camaro Z28. I'm right behind him at the stop light, and once it turns green he gives it quite a bit of gas off the start. It was clear that he had at least a cat-back also. It looked like an A4 too.

So I get up to speed behind him and he gets over in the other lane. My bright ass HID's were probably pissin' him off. We pace each other for a little bit, with him goosin' the gas a few times next to me. Then come to another stop light on the edge of town. I was pretty sure he was gonna take off hard again on green so I was ready to give it a good stab out of the whole regardless. Well the light turned green and I took off hard, rollin' into the throttle. But the Camaro didn't go hard at all and was a few cars back by the time I hit about 30mph at 1/2 throttle or so. I guess he was afraid to race from a dig? :th_scratchhead:

Anyway, he creeps back up beside me once we are going about 40 or so. And I give it a little gas to see if he would take off and he does! I hear his trans start to downshift to 2nd so I put it to the floor right away, roughly the same time he got the downshift. From 40 to about 100 I pulled 2 cars. His front bumper was about 1 car behind my back bumper. After I let off he comes flying by and gets over in my lane, then keeps haulin' ass out of town. I turned around and never saw him again. I guess he had somewhere to be? Maybe next time he will think twice before pickin' fights with a grand prix. And yes, this was brought to you in part, by the almighty 3.4 pulley!

Nah it has 2-3 degrees of knock with the 3.2 pulley. The 3.4 is a better pulley for most non IC'ed cars. Especially when it's cold out.

You had a lot more aggressive cam and ported heads. I'd sure hope you could safely go smaller than a 3.4
