I had asked about a clunking noise on acceleration and braking on my 2005 grand prix in a thread quite some time ago. I found out that the problem was the lower insulator was actually loose for i'm assuming for quite some time. I attempted to take out the 18 mm bolt to relace the insulator rubber and washers but the bolt snapped. I had to losened the other 3 bolts holding the subframe up....now the bolt that broke off is not broke off flush but about an inch long....my problem is.. it seems that the metal plate that it is threaded into is moving inside the body....any ideas as the best was to solve my problem guys ...any help would br greatly appreciated.

Guys i solved the problem myself with a propane torch i was able to heat it up 5-6 times spraying with wd-40 in between cooldowns and I was able to get it to turn out if i pulled down on the bolt as i turned it..so in short it wasn't moving in the frame as i 1st thought. As for anyone haveing the clunking noise check ur subframe mounts or i guess they're called lower insulators...at least that was my problem. Maybe it will help someone else in the future :)
