Hey guys, haven't been on in awhile. Got in my car (97 gt) this morning and noticed my low oil light was on. it was far below the checkered level on the dip stick. I put in about 2 quarts of oil and it still could have used a little bit more. This completely baffles me b/c I changed my oil less than 3 thousand miles ago and the level was full. I also have no oil leaks on my driveway. Could it be leaking out of the valve covers and burning up? That would seem like a lot of oil to be pouring out of a valve cover. I HOPE its not a head gasket. My car runs great as always and I haven't noticed any drop in performance. Would temperature have anything to do with it? I live in ohio and we've had some pretty cold temps. I wouldn't imagine that would cause me to lose so much oil though. I've never had my cars low oil light come on since i've owned it. Any ideas? Thanks.
