• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Loud noise above 45mph

I was on the highway today and I noticed my car making an unusual sound. It is making a loud humming sound, almost like a low pitched whistle. It went away once my speed decreased but when I took back above 45mph the sound came back. It seems to get louder the faster I go and more quite when my speed decreases until it disappears. I wish I could explain the sound better but its hard to type the actual sound.

The engine is running fine and nothing else is wrong right now (except my damn blower motor resistor). Anyone else ever have this or hear of it? Its a first for me.

Probably a bad wheel bearing. Lift up the car and check the wheel hubs for free-play

A wheel bearing is very likely the problem, but a worn tire could cause this sound as well. Make sure to look over all of your suspension including the tires when you check out your wheel bearing.
