looking to troubleshoot Bose system

Ok so lately my door speakers haven't been working in my car. They seem to work intermittently and lately but at all. So I went to the boneyard and grabbed two more Bose speakers and hooked them up and nothing.

So now I'm. Guessing it's the wiring and maybe the Bose amp itself and honestly I don't feel like tracing down these wires unless it's fairly easy. So is there a way I can hook the speakers directly to the head unit and just skip the amp?

If its an aftermarket HU yeah you would just have to run wire from the HU to the door unless the stock HU had the wires for them which I doubt because most don't because of the amp. I dont know the bose system but if the impedance of the front speakers is out of the range of the HU you would have to replace them with suitable replacements.

Or you would drop all new door speakers and 6x9s and a 4ch amp and say bye bye to the bose system.

Ok, I think I might just run them to the head unit for the time being. It would be nice to have door speakers again lol.

I think theres a certain adapter to use for bose systems with aftermarket HUs, I had to get one and my speakers are fine, least only drove it about 1K miles since I put the subs in but I havnt noticed a thing

Without the amp, you probably won't have enough output to hear them. Likely your amp etc is going. Personally, I'd replace the system and smile all day.

Didn't realize you had an aftermarket HU. Yeah.. you should be able to run to it as long as the ohms are correct between speakers and HU. IIRC Pioneer used 4ohms, but check that.
