Looking for good Subwoofer brands and suggestions for SQ

Hey guys I'm a real rookie when it comes to real good sq setups. Good in my head is alpine or kicker. Anyway I would love recommendations for a good sq sub that is preferably 12" and anywhere in the 150-250$ range. I've heard good things about sundown and phoenix gold but I just don't know.

In the past, I've used Sony Xplode, Fosgate Punch, and Kicker (not sure what model). They've all been 10" and powered by 300-400 watts of amplifier. All sounded good IMO. I am far from being an audiophile, but like some bass, but not overpowering bass.

I like rock music so I got a 10" subwoofer. it was like 300-400, I don't really remember though. 1500 watts peak, not sure what the rms is. it sounds great and isn't really overpowering. it's an RE Audio sub.

Not sure where you're located, but I'm selling my Polk Audio Subwoofer (2x12" in box) / Infinity amp setup. It's a beast of a system if you're looking for quality bass. I'm right outside of Philadelphia.
