Location of A/C Evaporator drain plug on 2006 Grand Prix

Hi -

Let me start by stating I know absolutely nothing about cars. I heard a "sloshing" sound on the passengers side of the car, and found out I probably have to drain my ac evaporator because it is plugged up. I saw some pictures from here "http://montecarloforum.com/forum/fifth-generation-monte-carlos-38/diy-c-evaporator-drain-plug-un-clog-no-tools-required-21645/" but I cannot find anything that looks like the "elbow" towards the rear wall under the hood. Should I look from under the car?

some times the sloshing noise its air in the heater core and the sound is from that, if your drains were plugged up your floor would be getting wet.

so does the heat work?

what you can do it your heat sucks or no heat, is take the 2 hoses off the alt bracket, and run a garden hose through one of them, it matters not witch one you put the hose on. if you get a big air pocket first before coolant comes out you had air, top off both hoses and put back on the alt bracket.

then let the car idle with the rad cap off till the fans turn on, and with the a/c off. then bleed the t stat housing, top off the rad and cap it.

you have a bleeder screw on top of the thermostat, open it up till a stream of coolant comes out, then snug it back up.
 
the heat works fine... after reading a little i was under the impression that the floor doesnt have to get necessarily wet. Its sloshing passenger side behind the dashboard.
 
theres nothing with water behind the pass side dash, its all dead center of the dash the black box you see if you look up at it from the foot area. where the foot air vents are.

your blower fan is under the pass side dash, maybe the fan bearings are going bad and thats what your hearing?
 
I hear tons of water sloshing around under the hood on the passenger side.. like the link i sent you says... everything i googled is almost directly that.. any idea where that plug is.. if i pull it out and no water comes out or its not clogged then i know its something else
 
this area is the middle just left of the middle of the car, on the fire wall. (see the o2 sensor and the DP?) and is above the the rack, so looking it will be easiest from the top.

your own link says comes with a wet floor, but you said your floor is dry, so that is why i said heater core has air in it.

and i stand behind what i said about the pass side dash, THERE'S NO LIQUID behind the pass side dash, none at all. its all dead center.

flushing your heater core is free and easy step to follow. its worth a shot.
