• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Bad problems going on. Its been going on for a while. I can't click the top menu navigations other than Whats New and Forum anything else I cant and the threads show up as just the names not the pages and sometimes it blanks out
 


There's one person in charge of changes to this forum, and this forum isn't exactly a priority for that individual at this point in time. Not to call anyone out, but here is some interesting information:

The Rocket468 has not logged in to this forum since "10-21-2013".

The owner of DevilsOwn Meth Injection has not logged in under their account on this forum since "12-29-2010."

The owner of DevilsOwn Meth Injection has logged into another forum I'm on as of "Today at 12:01:37 AM"

Nothing against certain individuals, infact my interactions have been positive with the owner of this forum, but I think he has moved on to bigger and better things without passing the torch to someone who is willing to make the necessary upgrades and fixes to the forum. There are places like InternetBrands who run LS1tech and PerformanceTrucks who would buy out the forum and keep it up, but I don't think that's a route the owner of this forum wants to go either.



Everyone should just be happy that we have a forum and deal with the few minor bugs that are associated with it. All in all this is a pretty good forum, and it doesn't have hardly any down time, ever. That says a lot compared to some other forums I'm on...

Be careful what you wish for.

AutoForums.com bought my buddy's old forum (BC4x4) about three years ago. We heard from some guy that represented AutoForums.com for the first few months, then nothing. The board is now full of spam and stupid people doing stupid things. No control what so ever.

BC4x4 used to be the best 4x4 site around and had that personal touch. Now it just sucks. I've seen this with a few other sites that I didn't frequent that often, so it is not an isolated case.

For this forum, the picture at the top of the page says it all.

Rocket doesn't necessarily need to sell the forum. He just needs to make someone that has more time an administrator so they can do all the day to day things.

This. AutoForums completely destroyed 3si. I joined back in 2003. At that time it was owned by one guy, he was a car owner and enthusiast. He never really posted, but had an admin that ran the day to day stuff. One day he sold it to Ekool. The forum was still run by the admin and Ekool stayed out of the way. There were a few more ads, but nothing out of hand, and most people didn't even see them if they were signed in. Ekool sold the forum to AutoForums and it was all downhill from there. Ads went up 1000%. Ads were infecting peoples computers. One day it got really bad and the admin shut down ads until they could fix the issue. He got a strongly worded email telling him NEVER to shut ads off again. That alone proves AutoForums only cares about the ad revenue.

After that incident Alan, the admin, had had enough and slowly started building a new forum. Late one night in 2010 he sent a mass email out to people announcing his resignation as head admin and inviting them to the new forum. He had 1000 members in the first week. I haven't been back to 3si since then and the people that still go there talk about how bad it continues to be.

Oh yeah, AutoForums actually made the new forum name like a curse word. Anytime someone would post it it would show up like *****.

Corporate greed is a hell of a drug and we don't need that here. We just need an admin that will fix what needs fixed.

there are a few people on here all the time but in my case i do write code and build sites all the time. he does need someone to keep this site fresh every 8 months or so. and to watch over the day to day.
 
Damn man, I know how to config and keep up websites. Idk if I can help but if needed let me know. I mean, I just made our company website & logo and I think its solid

I set up vBulletin forums years ago and I think its the same method as I just recently did with another PHP. I would love to see this forum upgraded to the newer vBulletin
