I have an 04 gtp with 99k only mod is a k&n cone filter. Bout a week or two ago I heard a whine from inside the car sounded like the supercharger just a lil louder I figured it was the supercharger on its way out but when I started it up later it sounded normal so I brushed it off figured it had something to do with the air/weather it was really damp out . Yesterday I was running late for work and didn't warm the car up before I left (I live in MA its still a little chilly out but at the time not freezing )I drove maybe 2-3 blocks and I heard it again but much louder this time. It changed with rpm and when I let off the gas and braked down a long hill it seem to wind down till I stopped sounded kinda grindy but the engine was idling while I did this.. I stopped at a gas station and listened sounded ok idling but as soon as I started moving I could hear it so I put it in park and gave it a couple revs it whined then too. I got out and checked under the hood still couldn't hear it and I couldn't rev it because its throttle by wire and i was alone. I checked all the fluids I could the trans fluid was maybe a 1/4 quart low with a few bubbles but didn't smell or look cooked and my coolant was low too but also looked smelled fine. I'm really scratching my head now I was thinking supercharger but the hill part makes me think trans ??? And it idles fine but if I rev it. So now I'm thinking torque converter cause it will spin with the engine or trans??? I started it up later and it ran fine again. So now I've scratched my head so long and hard I'm gonna start bleeding any min. So maybe it was a limp mode? Maybe bubbles in my fluid caused a pressure problem? I bought the car 3 years ago with 40k on it and as far as I know its never overheated or had more than a bad battery never been raced hard just to the speed limit from a light 5-6 times and i never really floored it I always eased it up so I'd keep traction. What do u think? Maybe do a pan drop and filter, top it off and all better? Or start scouring the junk yards for a good trans?
