I won this outing earlier in the year and finally attended in September. They finally posted the results and I was amazed at where I placed, I am no pro but I know how to throw this fat pig around. I try not to focus on coming in 171 out of 241 but I look at the cars I beat! Vipers, 'vettes and all kinds of crappy hardware. I cooked the brakes and my P/S pump.

Your absolutely right, I don't get nearly as much seat time as I need to get comfortable. I've autocrossed maybe four times in the last four years. I enjoy it and learn a lot but I wish I had more time. My tires were shot and with a better set I probably could have cut a second or two.
 
A good set of tires will pay big dividens since there your first line of grip with the tarmac, what tires do you run.
