likelihood of bbv failure

a while back I swapped a stock gen 3 supercharger on my car with a stock pulley. the car made about 4 lbs of boost. mods are ported L32 heads with 130 lb springs and an XP cam and headers. I recently found a good deal on a snout with a mps so I installed a 3.4 pulley, and the car still makes about 4 lbs of boost. with the stock pulley I wasn't too surprised about low boost, but now with a 3.4 it should be making more boost.

what's the likelihood that the bbv isn't closing all the way, thus preventing full boost. any other possibilities?

Not sure, but I have an extra BBV assembly I'd let you have, for the cost of shipping. It'd probably have the BBS on it as well.

Disconnect the vacuum line going to it and cap it off somehow and see if the boost raises. If it does, then the BBV is your problem.
