lights dim when braking

i noticed when i first press the brake that my lights will dim for a second then go back to normal. do i have a bad ground somewhere? alternator not putting out enough current? short in the abs system (which works fine)?
 


Thats normal IMO. My volts bounce when I hit the brakes or have a turn signal on. However, you have options for increasing voltage.

Search for ALT Rewire and some vendors sell diodes that increase voltage...ie ALT Volt Booster or a ALT overdrive pulley. I have a alt booster on my car... my volts are around 15.5... but still bounce.
 
yeah i saw the alt rewire kit, may have to try that. i thought it may be normal but wanted to make sure.
