Lifter tick

I know that this topic has been brought up before, and I'm probably beating dead horse, but I cannot find any "closure" on the topic. Has anyone figured out what tames or lessens the lifter knock, whether it be oil type or thickness, oil additives, fuel, other internal engine additives (sea foam, etc). From what I've read, it's not really bad that the lifters knock, and it doesn't help to replace them because they will do it again eventually. Just really curious.

i ran 10 40 a few oil changes. shut it up for sure.

my old engine with over 200,000 on it used to start ticking at start up soon after 3000 miles on its last oil change. only if it sat over night, or a couple days.

I've got about 64k miles on my GP. On start up its quite noticable, but after the engine warms and oils gets throughout the engine, it quiets down to a faint tick rather than a knock. Maybe I'll try some motor honey or a quart of Lucas the next oil change. Temps are warming up so don't see any nights below 35 degrees. I usually just run the Mobil 1 10w30 5k mile oil.
