Alright, here is the rundown. My seats are in fairly good shape, but I know they aren't what the could be. The leather in the front seats is somewhat hard and "wrinckly" (only way I can think to describe it). My rear seats are actually in much better condition, so I am not as worried about those. I have cleaned and conditioned them about once a month, sometimes a bit more, since I got the car 5 months ago, but I have not noticed really much of a change in softness or how the leather looks.

So what tips or tricks do you all have for softening/restoring the leather to get it looking newer and nicer?

I figure this could be helpful to others, and not just me!
 


I use meguiars leather conditioner and it works pretty well. The seats seem a little softer. But you can only ask so much from 13 year old leather.
 
If youre lucky you can find a better one from a junk yard. Rewiring and installation wouldn't be all that hard either. Just a thought
 
Try some Lexol on them. Had good luck with it in the past. Beyond that, might be a good excuse to upgrade to GXP seats (assuming your car isn't already a GXP).
 
Pontiac Racer. That is a good idea.. I may just take a quick run to check sometime..

FordMan. I am not so sure about Lexol, from the reviews it looks like a good product, but it appears to be more for maintaining leather.

The Guz. I have read a lot about leatherique. I have read both good and bad, more good than bad, but still. Right now what I am doing to try and get them back to good is daily wipedowns with a warm wrung out towel, and then hit them with meguiars conditioner.

I am skeptical as to wether or not it really is even possible to soften hardened leather seats. Considering there is a layer of film over the leather from factory that prevents a lot of things from being absorbed... But perhaps I should just try leatherique, just get a small amount of it to see it it really works.

I have read a few good things about this product too, wondering if I should try it, its cheap, and if it works...
 


Rather then cleaning them all the time. Use a leather conditioner only. Try applying it with your hands to massage it into the leather. Try his a few times a month and see if it rehydrates the leather. Are you using the leather conditioner or the all in one product (leather cleaner & conditioner)?
