large coolant leak???

so i parked at about a 20* incline and went to go eat. came back out and there was coolant all over tthe ground. was coming from the back of the engine. below the exhaust manifolds. coolant elbows and all hoses are fine. when i got it home and on a flat surface it didnt leak. filled it up and it still didnt leak. ran it and it didnt leak. anyone have any ideas?
i did recently switch from dexcool to green. flushed the entire sytem and bled it. was not beating on it. just normal driving...

trying to figure out what it is before i tear into it.

if the leak was dead center of the engine and behind it check the heater core hoses where they clamp on to the core tubes at the fire wall.

i had a hose end go bad and it leaked down the fire wall padding and hit the ground. the padding will get wet and damp feeling under the hoses if this is leaking, or if you see it leaking from the firewall at the bottom

that was the first thing i checked. and thats why i said the hoses were fine.

my hoses "looked" fine too. once they got hot it leaked.

if your not finding any wet trails from the pulley side, and its dripping in between the engine and tranny, the only thing there is the freeze out plugs, one may be rusted up and leaking.

and to change them you need to drop the trans or pull the engine to fix them on that side.

Clean any coolant spots you see. Get the car to normal running temperature and check around. Doubt its a freeze plug, but who knows. Possibly a bad UIM/LIM gasket, and being on an incline made the coolant pool up in the LIM and pour out the back. Along with the UIM gasket could be intake manifold is warped if it's never been replaced. (i.e. not the newly reinforced plastic)

do you know how much coolant would have to be in the lim bolt valleys to spill out over the valve cover (never gonna happen) or even down to the sides of the engine.

i have a bunch of leaking bolts as we speak, and nothing makes it to the ground, not even the end bolt that looks like its crying when the cars good and warmed up.....

I agree with the hoses. My car leaked from there and it wasn't apparent. I would lose coolant and would hear the swishing sound of water going through the heater core. Changed the hoses as they were old and bloated anyways and never saw an issue again. If they are old or never been changed do that first.
