Laptop?

Just got my hp tuner pro today in the mail. Now I just need a cheap laptop. Any suggestions on a laptop/netbook that would run hp tuners without any hick ups? I'm a guru with desktops, but never messed with laptops. More curious about battery life and heat coming off them.

i like the aspire ones, i got a little acer right now, wouldnt mind if you left in on the car and drove away. its kinda what i call a throw away lol

Go for battery life if you plan on taking the laptop with you for tuning. However with pro..you don't need the laptop in the car very much.

Netbooks.

Find something with an overly large battery.

You'll find during the day you'll want to crank the brightness up and leave the screen on during the entire drive.

Not exactly battery friendly, so finding something that's rated for 6-8 hours would be better.

Definitely want a 9 cell battery.. If you would want to look into it.. Now I'll remind you, this is just for logging, do not do this while flashing a tune.. But you could look into a power inverter if your battery is somewhat low. Like I said though, NEVER use it when flashing a tune.

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE
iF YOU DO.. YOU CAN COOK YOUR HPT BOX AND THAT WILL COST $80-$100. HPT's come with a note in the box when new that say you should never do this. There is an issue with grounding between the car and inverter etc that can fry the box.

Yeah I read that note. I really only need the laptop for the initial scan/license and to re-flash it. Otherwise it will be in the house on the charger.
