lambda...?

with e85 alot of guys have told me on the hptuners boards on threads and pms that I should really switch to lambda in terms of tuning for the fuel... at first it was hard for me to grasp the concept of what lambda was but I finally understand it...

heres my question now that I do understand it... why go through the hassle of making the switch? maybe its for guys whos WBs dont read in lambda?

cuz my AEM reads in lambda and just displays it in afr making 14.7 on my display a lambda of 1 for any fuel...?

is anyone on here tuning in lambda? have a missed something?

any clarification is appreciated

the AFR is already setup stoich for gasoline, so if you tune the car to show what you want on the gauge it is still correct. it is still converted from the lambda value it reads so you just tune it to see the same numbers.

Lambda is what the sensor measures.

But if you know which range is which in the gasoline scale, then what does it matter?

Unless however you wish to have your PCM know its not running gasoline.

In which case you'd change it to read stoich as the stoich of your fuel.

Then adjust all of your commanded AFR's to match the new scale.

Benefit?

Unsure.
