L67 Top Swap on 05 L26

I read the top swap FAQ, but i want to run this by you all since i am new to the GP world [ive owned mine for about 10 days]

I have found a Guy parting out a L67 locally, it looks like he has everything for the top swap aside from the harmonic balancer and fuel rails/injecotrs.

Heads $125
Tensioner $20
Idlers for Sc belt $25
Coil Pack Bracket $35
Lower Intake Manifold $60 it has the new metal gasket with only 2k miles on it
Fuel Injectors
Supercharger $120

He said he'll do 275$ for everything.

Sound like a good deal? and is there anything im missing [obviously ill need a harmonic balancer and the Fuel Rails/injectors]

My GP is a 05 base model, and the GTP the engine is from is a 98 GTP, if it matters.

Your going to have to get your stuff from an 04+. Your car has a DBW Throttle body. Which will not bolt up to the Gen 3 supercharger. And even if it would the wiring harnesses are different for the 97-03 than the 04+

You could do it, but it would take some custom work for the tbody and PCV, some wire splicing for things like the injectors, and you would need certain parts, like the fuel rail, from an L32. As TDC said, I would find a setup from an L32, much simpler.

Hey what year did all of the grandprix's come supercharged? I thought it was 05 but I guess not. lol

Don't know, I didn't know there was a year like that. Pontiac screwed around with the names so much in 04+, and I never did figure it all out.

The Fuel Rails and Injectors ill be getting from a 04+, or after market.

what all is involved in modifying the TB to bolt up?

i was planning on getting the parts from a 04+ or just going turbo, but for all the main components off a sub 80K engine for less then 300$ im really tempted to pick them up

You would need an adapter of some sort. ZZP and other companies make one to go the other way, to put a L67 tbody on a Gen V, but I don't know anyone that makes what you would need. The existing adapters MAY be able to be modified to work, otherwise you'd have to get something made or make it yourself.

We can make you an apadter to work. It's just something that is not mass produced because it does not have a high demand.

But you would have to countersink the Gen 3 holes and tap the Gen 5 holes. But other then that nothing.

if you could custom make an adapter that would be awesome, or if you know of any place with some more info on the adapter that would be useful as well.

I can. Just let me know.

why would you put an l67 top on a series III..? just doesnt make sense to me. i would be doing an l32 top for sure.

Why not? Even if he was looking at getting the most out of his setup (HP wise) It's not that much of a difference. And another reason is you can't get a L32 top swap for 200 bucks. :)

top swap, sans fuel rails, injectors, and harmonic balancer, for 200$. thats why im doing a L67 swap, i was going to go turbo until i found this local part out.

Looking at your list, the only thing I see missing would be the valve covers.

You're also going to have to plumb something up for the inlet of the PCV system, and figure out something with the MAP sensor, since your computer won't read a 2 bar sensor and there won't be a spot for your stock sensor. You do have a way to tune, right?

ill be getting a canned tune from ZZP for my base tune and then using a HPTuner from there, im talking with them about what all needs to be adapted on the PCM side to make it work.

i didnt think about valve covers, but the guy has them so ill go ahead and grab them as well.
