• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

l67 camaro

Tuning a l36 car for boost requires changing 2 tables and adjusting the injectors for whatever injectors you install. If it takes more than 20 minutes to get a perfect tune on that car you have other problems.

i often wonder if youve ever dealt with the early obd2 cars when you always talk about the map sensor being inconsequential to the tune.

i know the early cars and in particular the high altitude "dual map" cars seem to use it for transitional fueling as well as the failsafe of sd operation and its diagnostic crosschecking.

it seems that gm used it so halfhazardly too, its odd

im still a fan of sd tuning for safe failsafe drivability, even if its a later car that relegates it to more diagnostic measures than transitional fueling.

our positive pressure resolution is ****ing horrible to say the least, its still sucks we have to lie to the pcm soo much to get it to feed the big guys... with the dhp site and all my crap gone to the wind ive been thinking more and more about the MS system with the stacked GPIO boards.

i still run the 98/99 bins for most of my swaps, such a nicer os vs the eobd2 junk in 00+

btw its been a while, how are your heaps doin?

Funny you mention it but believe it or not the maf failsafe for all camros is actually alpha-n and not map sensor... so it is completely ignored in all cases. I found this out trying to help a guy run 6 throttlebodies on a camaro l36 before.

In the situations that hybrid map/maf is enabled on a 3800 tune.. i have found very very small amounts of consistent data on it. In some rare cases zeroing out the ve table caused some funny long crank starting issues... but no really obvious lean tip in spots like you would expect on a typical ls hybrid.

In terms of running ms.... its a tough deal. I had a ms l36 for awhile... and my crx and miata both run on ms2 and msq respectively. .. i cant find any reason to hate the stock pcm and maf. Combined with the trans control you get stock with the option of torque management all built in.. its really an unbeatable setup. I can take any of the 600whp+ 3800s in my crew anywhere in the state at any temperature and get above average mpg and stock reliability....

Now i left out spark because there are tons of limitations there but that doesnt mean you cant just plug in a ms for stand alone LS coil based spark control.. .. you can run much more spark energy and non wasted spark (turbo antilag joy) as well as have more accurate advance in the higher rpm.
