L36 swap to a L26 ????

Hello all, I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT with a blown L36 & I was wanting to know how difficult it would be to swap it with a newer L26 & would it be worth the trouble ?
I'm asking because I ran across an 06 Grand Prix L26 with very, very few miles on it.
Also, can some one tell me some of the things & parts I would need to preform this swap ?

THANKS GUYS

The main thing would be that you would need to use your stock throttle body, since the L26 one is drive by wire. You'll need an adapter to make it fit. I've also heard of an issue with the oil pan hitting and needing a little grinding, but I'm not totally sure about that. You'll also want to use your stock fuel rail, as the L26 uses a returnless system. I believe everything else should swap without a problem, but I'm sure someone else will jump in if I missed anything.

Not sure if the fuel rails cleared that larger aluminum one...maybe they do idk. I would think you would have to get a retune of some sort because I know a few connections aren't the same in there...TB adapting being one of them...

The aluminum UIM is almost exactly the same dimensions as the composite one, just with a longer snout. I don't see it causing any problems, as a number of people have used it on their L36.

if he had the $ to i'm pretty sure he would. I'm in the same situation and the local mechanic is putting in a l26 on my 97 GT.
