L/F wheel bearing GP 2008

Just did my right front bearing; stock shafts took a 36mm socket, and aftermarket shafts take a 34mm socket.

The seal went in pretty good and it's sealed but for some reason it's still leaking but it's very minimal around the side. I still think it may be because the inner joint (cylinder) on the axel shaft is not touching the back of the transmission wall.

So I still have a small leak, it's not leaking on the driveway but It still leaks around the inner CV joint. I put a new seal so what am I doing wrong?

I have no clue. I used a National seal when I did mine. Lubed up the rubber part with fresh trans fluid before inserting the shaft. Did you mare up the surface of the transmission when you removed the seal? I've heard of some people using blue lock tight around the seal where it makes contact with the transmission to seat. But honestly, if it's just that Class I leak like the pictures are showing, it'll probably be fine as long as it doesn't start dripping.

I know the seal is Installed correctly and flushed, maybe it's a bad seal? I think it's leaking from the rubber part and not from the side. I may of dented the side when trying to remove the first seal but like I said I think it's coming from the rubber but I can be wrong. Is there anything I can put around the edge if I put a put a new seal to stop the leaking if it's coming from the side?

I really doubt there's anything you can add to it at this point to stop it. I'd say try a new seal and that's about it. The brand I bought was National Oil Seal P# 100165, which was for the DS.

Stock shaft nut on my 05 Monte was 34mm. I bought a 7 piece set of FWD impact axle nut sockets from Harbor Freight for cheap, under $40.
Nice. Up here in Canadia, that socket set is well over $100 for the el-cheapo brands. I bought a 33, 34, 35 and 36mm socket and returned the 3 I didn't need. Because I am so smart. LOL

With 7 I'm covered for our other 2 GP's, unknown if OE hubs or not. Plus an occasional in-law/niece/nephew with whatever various make is bound to show up.....
