hey guys might be a silly question but wat is knock retard and how do u know if ur engine is doing it!
 


Knock Retard is bacically the number of degrees of the overall timing advance thats gotta be removed from yer engine to keep detonation from happening.. KR is bad for your engine. You could possibly cause stress cracks in yer pistons, which in the long run or short run, depends!, could cause a piece to break off and cause a lot more damage than you want! If any form of knock(actual or false) is detected the timing is retarded to prevent engine damage.

To find out if you have KR, you gotta get it scanned with a scanner(AutoTap, ScanMaster, Tech2, LS1m, etc..)
