kr scanning help

I have access to a tech2 and i know how to start the scan but what exactly am i looking at when im scanning? kinda noobish question but i dont have much experience with scanning.
 


Per your thread title, you would just scroll down to knock retard on the tech 2 and go driving.

You won't see kr under normal driving, very rare if you do. But if you hammer on it, you'll likely see anywhere from 3-7 on a stock motor. That number will retard the timing.
 
I want to get some headers and drop the pulley a bit. I have a cone filter and some super 44s for mods. With these mods under 3 kr would be good i guess right? I read alot of people wanting 0 but thats kinda hard to come by
 
Those 2 mods, if you want to call them that, didnt do anything to help.

So still seeing anywhere from 3-7 can happen, you'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully you run 91+ octane.

Adding flow mods should reduce knock, mod level can determine how much knock is still okay at times.
 
Ya im running 91. I didnt expect the cone and 44s to do anything for kr (they were cheap and easy so why not)
Ill scan it and see what it says and go from there.
