Knocking sounds in rear at cruise

HELP

OK, about 2 weeks ago I heard this horrible knocking sound from the rear drivers side of my car on my way to work one morning. I got to work and jacked up the car and noticed that there was play in the wheel from top to bottom. Just yesterday (rained forever) I replaced the bearing. Now no more play. The problem is that knocking still exists. I thought maybe it was the tire, I rotated the tire to the front and the knocking still exists. I shook the strut and did not have any play from what I could see. I tried to make the sound happen while at park shaking the car in any possible direction. Nothing. The rear strut mounts look good, no play at all at the top when I push the car.

What is going on is there is a knocking after the car is driven for about 3 min. The faster I go, the louder it is and it actually shakes the car at about 50. It only happens when I let off the gas and the car begins to cruise. If I go over a rew bumps, the knock goes away. If I hit the gas a little bit to accelerate, the knock goes away. If I want to maintain any speed, there is knocking in the rear driver's side.

I would appreciate any help
Mike

Check your sway bar link. Make sure thats still intact. Mine came off and I had the same problem. It kept hitting the exhaust making this ridiculous sound.

I ended up jacking up the car to find that the tire was hitting the trailing arm. It seems that some how I stripped the adjustable lateral bar. Atleast I found the problem and it is am easy enough fix
