Im voting on a remote bass knob.

Or possibly its a high tech house light dimmer connected to the previous owner's house...and you're really messing with him.
 
Ok....here is what I have discovered. Old carpet is getting replaced seeing as its already on the garage floor. Previous owner was kind enough to donate $18.75 in quarters and a toothbrush. Threw the toothbrush away....kept the money.
Previous owner must have had a amp or some other audio component in the trunk. Knob wiring meets up with a big a$$ power cable and both were tucked up under the carpet underneath the rear seat. Seeing as how the interior is pretty much gutted, it seems like a good time to have my nephew come over and install a pro sound system.
