Killed: Mazdaspeed Protege ('01-'04ish)

I was on my way to a friend's house when I passed a Protege on the highway. I got the light to turn right, and he followed. A minute later, he pulled along side me, guess he decided I was gonna be his next victim...and he revs the engine a few times to let me know there's a turbo under the hood. I did the same thing to let him know there's a 3800 S/C with a CAI and catback exhaust under mine. We got into traffic before the next light, so he got in front of me for the first spot. At green, he drops the clutch and lays about 15 feet of rubber, so I oblige with a hammer down, rolling 10-footer. We get clear of traffic for the next light, right as the crosstraffic gets the yellow. We barely come to a stop, get the green and I go. I would like to give him the benefit of missing 1st, or maybe he was still in second. I don't know. But I left him like a sack of ugly, I dont think he made it to third before giving up. I love killing ricers. :th_biggrin2: All day.

This is true. And I would hardly call them ricers, I for one think they are sexy. Plus they are pretty uncommon. Nice kill.

yeah they arent very many made, its a 03 car only I think with the 2.0 turbo motor.

I just have a hard time thinking of a 2.0T with 170hp as faster than a 3.8S/C V6 with a few mods. I'd think a GT would give it a close run. Maybe I'm just biased, but I almost feel bad for putting a kink in his mojo.
