Key wouldn't turn forward

It'd turn backwards, but not forward.

Is it the ignition switch? I've searched a lot but most people talk about not being able to remove the key. I already had that problem and just push the button.

But has anyone experienced the key not turning forward?
 


I got it to turn after about 20 minutes. Maybe it was the steering wheel lock. I hope that's all it was.
