Key stuck in ignition, won't start, won't shift out of first park !!.

I have a 98 GTP

Just like the title says, My key is stuck in the ignition, will go back as far as the normal off, but won't come back to where i can release it. It will not shift out of park (the button won't even push in on the shift lever.) And it will not start, even though I can push the key back in to the start position.

I have a Viper car alarm remote start hooked up. I was trying to replace my supercharger smooth pulley and put a new belt on, I heard a pop. So I'm assuming that something shorted out, everything else seems to work fine, and when I push remote start from my phone, it will start the car. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but I'm really thinking it's something to do with either the factory security system or the viper one.

Please help with any ideas you might have, dead in the water right now.

All of them have something with the factory security to where if the battery is dead you cant take the key out or shift out of park i would check all fuses and see if any are bad sounds like that portion of the ignition lock isnt getting power

You can get your keys out of the ignition. All you need to do is move the little plastic cover under the steering wheels and shove a screw driver in it. I keep a philips head screw driver in my car for this very reason.
