Key FOB, P/S Pulley, HUD...

Hi, if ANY1 could help me I would be incredibly grateful... First off, I just got my Key FOB tht I ordered off ebay, Brand new one btw, I did the recommended steps and now the remote unlocks the doors but doesn't lock them,... or open the trunk either, and the panic isn't functional either. But it definitely unlocks the doors. Second, the pulley on my power steering pump is wobbly as hell, I believe this and a much needed tune-up are the culprits of my lower than norm idle, and weird surges during driving. Last but not least, my HUD hasn't worked since day one of me purchasing my vehicle, btw which is a 97 Grand Prix gtp, and had 117k on the engine when I got it... I haven't had the car for.more than 1 month. Help?

Sounds like you may need to try and reprogram the fob. What steps did you use to do this?

Replace the power steering pump. You can get to the lines if you remove the pass. side tire. Should be able to go through the wheel housing to get to them. Difficult, but possible.

Yes, a tune-up is always a good idea on a new to you car. Since you are supercharged I would go with stock AC Delco wires and some Autolite AL606's gapped to factory specs. Do NOT install platinum plugs on these cars, they don't like them. Also, be sure to run PREMIUM fuel in that car (91+ octane) or you risk chipping a piston when you get into boost and destroying the motor.

4) Spark Plugs - Change out those stock spark plugs with new ones to restore any lost power. Brands that most tend to go with are either Copper Core Autolites or NGK Spark Plugs. Get these at your local auto parts store also. They range as follows in order from hottest to coldest plugs...remember...you want the hottest spark possible...so running a super cold plug on a larger pulley to combat knock isn't the best plan...ACD's, AL606's, and AL605's are basically for stock cars or very small bolt ons still running the stock S/C Pulley or modded N/A guys...you want to keep a hot spark. NGKTR55/AL104's for your 3.4" Setup, TR6's are a tad cooler...best used around the 3.25" pulley area, and AL103's...are for the extreme supercharged application...3.0" pulley or lower. Here is a picture to reference the firing order and the correct coil number if yours aren't numbered or you just need a quick reference picture: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d6.../plugwires.jpg

AC Delco Factory Replacements: Stock
Autolite 606: Stock
Autolite 605: 1 Heat Range Cooler
NGK TR55: 1 Heat Range Cooler
Autolite 104: 2 Heat Ranges Cooler
NGK TR6: 2 Heat Ranges Cooler
Autolite 103: 3 Heat Rangles Cooler

As far as the HUD, check your fuses. If that fails, then it may be working, but the clip that holds the adjustment spring may have broken and now its not showing on the windsheild due to being off-angle.

O_o uh... Ok a lot of valuable info to digest here *thinks to self, HOLY F**K BALLS!* ...but Yeh, Thx for all the info, seriously though I can't just pull the pulley off and replace it? I'm a representative of *Broke Phi Broke* and money isn't exactly my friend out here. Plus on the Key FOB I've followed every step on this site, the programming it came with, and then some. Actually today when I got.of work I wanted to see if any of the other buttons worked, the trunk button open the trunk... ONCE. It hasn't opened it since so I'm thinking either some buttons may be off or the chip is bad or something. On to the tune up with the wires and spark plugs,....holy ****. Thts all I have to say about that. Annnnddd the HUD, where would the fuse be located? Glove or engine fuse box?

yup it will be photcell, i soilderd mines already and when you programmed the fob did you get the correct chimes or what?

Ok, update. Sorry been with my FutureWife last week :P but seriously >_> ...keey FOB working flawlessly now, changed out the rubber button pad thingy with my old alero one with larger contacts... Go figure -_- . Just went to the scrap yard with pops and got a EGR valve because I narrowed down the cause of my idle problems and such... Guess what? The damn Service light goes out and the car idles fine now -_- FML but the P/S is still FUBAR.
