Keeping the family heirloom

My grandmother bought a white GT back in '97. Subsequently her grandmotherliness has kept her from enjoying her, and my dad bought her. I fell in love with her when I first got behind the wheel and have kept my eyes on her ever since.
I would appreciate any feedback on keeping her running smoothly before I am handed the keys and really turn the lights down (figuratively of course)

not much, the transmission is kinda junky.

Just keep the oil changes regular, air filter, plugs, wires, basic tune up stuff.

replace anything that breaks ASAP, that helps prevent compound issues.

Please replace the word 'her' with the word 'it'. Kind of hard to tell if you're talking about grandma or grand prix.....hahahaha :th_laugh-lol2:

And welcome to the forum :th_winking:

Does the GP have a name? My white 97 GT 4dr is named Suzie. I got her from my grandma about 3 years ago. Our cars are not worth modding as the transmission will not hold up to much more power than stock. The cost of a top swap and the tranny swap is about as much as the car is worth. The 98+ GP's have the stronger tranny.

My mom has a tendency to call her Bessie, which I find highly insulting. Personally to me she's called Liliana.
