K&N Air Intake noises

I installed a K&N Air Intake on my 2003 GTP. I have had these intakes on several previous cars (Mustang, F150, Contour SVT) and none made the sounds like from the GTP. It makes a LOUD air vacuum sucking sound when idle. While driving it makes a great sound like I'm used too. I know it allows more air to get in the engine, but this sounds like something is wrong with the car. People stare after I start my car and I have been asked before whats wrong with my engine b/c it sounds horrible. Has anyone had this same problem or is it just the sound it makes on the GTP? K&N told me that this is normal. I think that i might be because of the supercharger, but I am going to uninstall the air intake it this cant' be solved.

Every w-body I've had experience with so far has done this. Something to do with how the IAC is designed causes the noise during a raised idle (like when the engine is cold). Supercharged, non-supercharged, 3400, 3100, 3800, LS4, you name it.

Yup X2^^^, this is normal, and does go away as it warms up. Your good to go:th_thumbsup-wink:

Its fine! I had one an personally loved that sound. It is just taking in air and like others said it does quiet down once it warms up.
