Just picked up a 02 GT

was looking for a daily driver. 02 GT 2 door with 140,000. 3.8 heads up display. Not a bad car for the price. i have some codes and such but first thing I noticed is I have no brights, as in they don't want to come on. the fog lights will only come on when lights turned on. Not by just hitting the fog light switch. Now I had a 2000 grand prix and I can't recall the lights being like this. So I have not really had time to mess with it, but that's first thing I noticed. Maybe i am missing something. I'm not quite sure.
 


I know on my 2000 GT the fog lights only come on when the lights are on as well (excluding daytime running lights) if you aren't OK with this I'm sure someone has to have written a thread on how to change that but I haven't looked for one. as for the brights it could be a few things. check fuses and also the wires for any breaks. make sure all connections are good. I guess the switch could have gone bad? idk we'll have to see what others think. but I'd check the other things I listed to start with
 
how much you get it for?? i would say anywhere from 1000-1500 is a good price for the car. My cars ive had, two 2000s, and a 2001 all had their foglights the same way, only work when the headlights are actually on.
 
I just purchased my 02 GT here in the Cleveland area for $800. It was a steal, the guy was car stupid. Possibly check wiring on the headlight assembly and bulbs. Maybe the bulbs are shot, ya never know.

From the factory, the fogs come on with the lows, and off with the hi's.

As for the hi's not working, check the bulbs, check for power in/out of the relay and check for power at the lights.
 
I paid 1300 which I consider a good deal. Lots of crap out there and I hate car shopping especially since I deal in cash and hate car payments.
