I have been trying for about an hour and can not get them out. I cant figure out how to remove the rear carpet thing that has the speaker grills!

help!!!!!

Wtf I gotta remove the back seats! F that lol I usually do my own stuff. I guess I'm going to take it some where to get done

wow...I hope removing the rear seat isnt too much of a deal for you...XD

It honestly takes about 10minutes to get the speakers out. Remove the seats, and remove the rear deck cover, and bam, there your speakers are.

Im not sure if they are the same as in the 97-03, but you should feel 2 little tabs under the actual seat (part you sit on, around where your knees are.) It should lift out, and then there are 2 nuts you remove and the back section on the seat lifts off.

Then there are 3 of those push pins, just use a screwdriver to pry them out (careful to not break anything) and then the deck cover lifts off.

Again not sure if its the same, but if you just look around you should see how it all goes together.

On my 05 GT you have to fold down the seats, remove the 4 bolts, and then look for a retaining clip, one on each side, behind the bolster (the plastic part that was secured with the bolts). Then remove the trim pillar, then take off the rear deck cover and undo the two clips holding each speaker bracket in.

After that it's pretty self explanatory :)

Removing any speakers on newer GP's seems like a hassle, but probably well worth it, if only I had the money to get new speakers ):
