when I bought the car the window worked fine. About a week and a half ago the window went down just fine but it wouldn't go up. I wanted to replace the motor anyway cause that's what I do so I bit the bullet and installed a new one. Hooked everything up window went down, window did not go up. I figured ok it must be the switch then. So i bought a switch from someone here, he verified it worked so I bought it and got it today. Hooked it up, window went down, window did not go up. I assumed that if the regulator was bad it souldn't go down or up. All the connections seem like they are ok. Anyone have any ideas? Please help me I hate this car!!!!
 


how do you keep getting it back up?

the only 2 things i can think of are the wiring, and the regulator. you should try taking a voltmeter to the motor connection and see if theres power there when you press the up button, if so, then i would guess the regulator. from my personal experience, and from what ive read, the motor/regulator is a pretty common part to go out on these cars
 
to get the window back up I keep taking the motor off of the regulator and pulling it up. I know for a fact that the motor isn't the problem because it is brand new! Is it possible for the regulator to be bad if the window goes down fine? I haven't touched and of the wiring so I'd imagine that is fine, so then it must be the regulator then?
 
you need to take out the regulator and visually inspect it. It could be possible that the cables for the up side has broken. Also, can you hear the motor running on the up? That would be an indication if its the regulator or not.

i meant the connection at the door, the connector you plug the motor in to, test for electricity there while pressing the up button.
 


i understand that, i meant test the connector for electricity with a voltmeter. the connector attatched to the door, the one you plug the motor in to........ while pressing the up button
