• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Okay a buddy of mines has a 2000 Monte Carlo. It's a 3100 I believe. Every since he's had it it makes this weird vacuuming noise on startup. It comes and goes randomly during driving.

've helped him track it down and it's in the are of the drivers side headlight. Upon further inspection I think we have found the culprits.

This seems be the cause of the sound. I have no idea what this is and If you notice there is a hose just sitting there unattached.

Anyone know what this is?

Follow that back to the exhaust manifold. See the extra tubes on it? California emissions and that is the air pump.

Well..you didn't ask about that at first..lol

If you have a fitting and a hose..yes attach it. Sounds like the plastic clamp may have fallen off.

Anytime you have an open nipple and a hose laying right there, feel free to reconnect them.

Not sure I really helped BTW. Seemed like you had it under control.
