so after much frustration she is back
i bought a 97 gtp a month and a half ago drove 3 hours and she blew up
found a motor from a 01 and got her in there swapped a bunch of stuff did the intake gaskets and now she purrs like a kitten oh man it feels good to know shes back
i bought the motor froma shady lookin guy but his word turned out to be true it ran and ran good

oh and the motor has 89k miles on her for 500 bones :) yay
 


Nice, that sounds like my story. I test drove my 2002 GTP for about 2 hours, ran perfect. Paid for the car, and on the way home (bout 80miles) she shut off once. Wiggled the battery connections, started up fine.
Pulled onto the interstate and all of a sudden BAM...knock,knock,knock,knock.

Called the dealer and found out they already closed, and with no one around, I drove another 50miles on 5cylinders. Literally as i pulled in my driveway, she seized.

So we swapped in a motor from a 2002 Regal, with low mileage, and it was the bed damn sound in the world when we cranked it and she ran.

sounds almost identical to my situation but yeah it feels great im glad to be part of the running gtp comminuty now :) now its time for some exhaust :D
my motor came from a 01 regal lol so yea
