issue caused by volt booster?

So, the last several months, I have noticed that my Voltmeter gauge has been acting funny. The volt reading on it has been fine, it's just that the red light keeps going dim for a couple seconds, then getting brighter, then dimming, etc. I messed with wiring, ground, the bulb and still same problem. I also noticed that my driver side fog was flickering a tiny tiny bit. For some reason, i went to my alternator, and took off the zzp stage 1 volt booster.

Haven't seen the problem since last night.... so, could too high of volts cause this? or is it something defective in teh booster? i was pushing over 14.5 volts using it. without the booster im at 13.9-14.1

yeah idk...only other thing i can think of ,is the battery. its newer, but the cold cranking amps were lower than my previous battery, (they were out of the right battery and it was a free replacement). I can't even remember how high our cold cranking amps should be?

its either that, or could it be the alternator?

yeah, im just gonna watch it and see how it goes. its just weird that it quit doing the dimming and fog flickering after i took the booster out. I have heard about some defective ones doing some weird things...

something i just read on zzp's site:

"New version has better soldering. Fixes the erratic voltage issues on certain cars. Now compatible with Regal and other 3 wire applications!"

im wondering how long that has been for?

If there is not a proper connection or the 'signal' wire is not connected, the volts bounce around like you described. I would pull the booster
