Everytime im going like uphill or sometimes once in a while level ground around 47 48 49 mph it does this little bouce with the tach what is up with that and its only around 48 mph it does it to???? funny thing is i think my dads 92 grand am does it 2?? is this a problem or is this normal with pontiacs?:th_question1:

It is a problem with the transmission that higher mileage cars get. Couple possible problems are sticking TCS or a worn valve body.

My car did it when I bought it. But I have since used my tuner to adjust my shift points and have eliminated it.

are you telling me my tranny is almost dead wtf dont scare me like that. what are you saying? shes got 120k

No, its not almost dead, but it is a tranny issue. I had the same problem and had a HUGE thread going on over on ClubGP about it (before I knew Trannyman). You can work it out with tuning but its ultimately a band-aid fix. It occurs around the speeds the TC would normally lock up and acts like its hunting for the lockup. Trannyman can probably shed more details on it. When I took my tranny apart I did not see any of the signs of valve body issues that Trannyman mentions (admittedly though, Im not trained in the way he is to spot that kind of stuff) so it led me to believe it could be truly TC lock up hunting or an issue with a valve body solenoid. Mine was taken care of with tuning so I can only imagine thats what it was rather than a part failure but again, Trannyman is going to be the more authoritive voice on that than I.

No, your tranny is not almost dead. Mine was doing this when I bought my car with 128k on it. And I assume it was doing this before I bought it too. Tuned it out somewhere are 140k miles. And been fine ever since....
