is there a way to tell if my car has variable steering?

im looking for a rack and pinion and i cant seem to find out if i have variable steering or not. can anyone help.

97+ gtp's all had variable steering.. unless someone swapped out the old rack to a non variable steering.
GT/SE had non variable.

Easy way to check is where the steering column bolts to the steering rack gear, there is a plug wire coming out of it the steering gear area part.
If its there, you got variable steering.

We just bought a non variable steering rack for our turbo car, and the steering gear part section is noticeably smaller then the old one with variable steering.

Could be wrong on the GT/SE not having them.. either way, just get down there and look for the wire.

It's 1000000 times easier to pull the ABS fuse and see if the steering is heavier at speeds under 10 mph than it is to hunt for a wire in a 10-15 year old car that is probably covered in 10-15 years of road grime.
