• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

is there a way to aviod buying credits?

The amount of work HPTuners puts in to their software is unbelievable. As far as I'm concerned they deserve to ask for $50 a credit. Buy them from Intense and save $5 a credit.

they allow you to tune
and its 2 creds per vehicle or or so many creds to unlock unlimited tuning on a certain type of car
and so on

Do you get any credits when you get the software? And can you tune your stock PCM or do you need to buy a new one that's unlocked or whatever

buying a new PCM is buying a new PCM file. its plug and play whereas tuning your car will take time and a lot of learning.

no if you buy a new pcm it will come pretuned from 3800performance,intense,overkill,zzp these companys load new tunes on the pcm for you then send you the unit

costs around 100-150 bucks plus core chrge

so i'm basically buying from them what i can do to my stock with hptuner? and it would be the same thing? sorry for the questions i just dont completely understand

yes, you got it. you'll be able to do what they are doing, but be able to change a whole lot more as well as customizing the tune for YOUR car.

Jesus....my head hurts.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb here, and say if you have to ask this many questions, then you need to read up on the HP Tuners forums. In no way, should you start to attempt at using a tuning software if you don't know what you're needing.

Sorry for sounding like a prick, I just think that people need to study and read up on things like this. Asking one or two specific questions after you get a basic idea is one thing, but jumping into this with both feet when you have no clue as to what you're doing is gonna end up costing you a car in the end.
