Is Pontiac GT and GT1 the same?

When I'm looking for parts on the internet, everything seems to come up GT1, and not just GT, for my daughter's car ('04 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3800 Series 3). Are they one in the same? Or are they different?

Same. It's just the trim level-- GT1 is the standard for '04, and the GT2 is "fancier."

As ^ he said GT1 is base model for 04-06. Things such as ABS, traction control, sunroof, steering wheel controls etc. are optional with this trim where as they are standard on the GT2 trim

Forgot to mention that both of them will still say GT on the back of the car not GT1 or GT2

Gt1&2 were just 04. Starting in 05 the base model replaced gt1
