Is my 97 gtp worth modding

Hi Im not a very mechanically inclined kinda guy but I try and I love the gtps I had a 03 before but crashes it on the hey doing 200 kph but Im still breathing and I learned my lesson no I wanna mod my 97 but not sure if it's worth it and how different a 97 is to a 03 and I live on British Columbia canada and not sure if anyone know of shops that could help me out with upgrading I have no clue where to start any input would be helpfull
 


97 is going to have a different PCM and some different transmission parts (only because 2003 was unique). There are also more minor differences such as the coolant bottle and the air intake having 90 degree bends.
 
from where you stand its almost the same car just the 97 is older and a first year of a body style change. so its a bastard year so to say, it will take all the same mods the 03 had or you wanted to install.

check the body out for rust before you invest to much into it. rear strut towers and the rockers under the doors.
