Is a GXP drivetrain impossible to put in a 02 GP GT?

I was wondering if it is even possible to do a swap like putting a GXP drivetrain in a 02 GP GT? I've heard different stories but I want to ask the experts.

No expert here, but I'd imagine it would be a lot of money, and you might as well get a turbo, as said above.

Which would be better? Supercharger or Turbo? I wanted to "Top Swap" my car but I was told it would be easier to get a motor and trans out of a GTP or Bonnie instead.

Ok, And will the supercharged 3800 series III out of the 04 on up fit into a 02 or is that alot of work too?

yes, you need to swap small things like the UIM (or get a TB adapter and a few other items) and swap the oil pans.

Okay this may be a stupid question but does the intake need to be up-graded to put in a turbo in?

not really.

but you should.

you'll gain power from getting rid of the stock runners for an HV3.

I am really tired of these threads...I see a new one daily. No offense to the OP. just use the search button next time please.

It's a bit of a hassle to put a 03+ 4t65e's into 98-02 cars, as in you need to run a certain pcm with a 03 file or rewire trans harness as well as making the changes in gearing for the pcm.

Well thanks guys I just wanted to see what my next direction would be....and I really dont know how to use "the search" option but I do appreciate the info....

And once you're done clicking it, read it.

I don't see a problem with starting a post like this, even when people search and read they ask another question and the mods lock out the thread because it was 2 years old... Kinda defeats the purpose at times, its not like they're wasting gigs of space on the internets with this.

No sir, I'm running the stock aluminum pan that came on my l32... I did have to notch the bottom motor mount bracket about a 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep in two spots. But that was no big deal and even doing several test fits to remove as little material as possible it only took 10 minutes.

Then on my 98 the water temp sensor was different, everything else was the same besides the TB of course.
