introduction

GrandPrixGt2001

New member
Hello- my name is Alison. I've been a member for a few months. I am just getting around to posting my introduction. I have a 2001 Pontiac grand prix gt. It's a beautiful piece of machinery and definately fun to drive. It's got two problems. The alarm is constantly setting itself off at random, and the fuel gauge can't decide where its at. I'm guessing this is the fuel pump or the float but not 100%. Any help would be appreciated!. My husband just picked up an immaculate 95 camaro z28 with 94,000 miles on it that I found. We traded our 2000 Suzuki gsxr for it. We are planning on building up or cars this winter and heading to the track this spring. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to my gt to even think about keeping up.? I recently learned how to rebuild a 3400 motor but the 3800 is quiet different. I am recently married and turning 25 on the 21st. Exciting. Ha ha. Please be kind as I am learning an all new motor. My grand am recently died so I sold it and upgraded to my gt!! Thanks!!:)

Rochester MN?

As for the fuel gauge, its likely that the fingers that run across the circut board on the fuel pumps level sender have worn off and that needs to be replaced. There are a few threads on the topic and a 3 part video on youtube showing you how to replace it.
