interior lights very dim,shutting radio off.please help

I am new here and figured i would ask for some help from someone who has possibly went through a similar issue.i bought a 1997 gp/gt and the guy i bought it from told me the interior lights just stopped working and it was prob a blown fuse.I didn't care much cause i liked the rest of the car but it turns out he lied.When i decided to check it out i found the fuse was missing.So iput a fuse in a tahdah,LIGHTS.So i think i fixed it but it turns out a couple mins later they go dim and the radio shuts off.WTF.I pull the fuse and the radio comes back on.I put the fuse back in and the lights are still dim and the radio keeps turning on and off,so i pulled the fuse and the radio is fine.I am assuming the po figured that much out and left the fuse out.I personally would like to figure out how to fix the lights inside.It's kinda one of those taken for granted things that i am going nuts without.Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.Thanks:th_scratchhead:
 


Not sure if this is going to fix your problem but I am having an issue with my interior lights dimming. The headlight swithch/dimmer is going bad. I will be replacing it soon. Oh, and my radio is working fine.....I do have a burning mell and i know its comming from the headlight switch! So I would take that small door off thats on the driver side and check it.....You could have some melted wires or chafed wires touching!
 
Changed the switch out and it fixed my dimming problem! So hopefully this will fix your problem. Never seen the dash lights so bright! I only had the gtp for 8 months.
 
Yes,the car starts and runs fine.I did look at the switch and the wires and all looks well.I am still going to try switching it out to see but i am doubting it honestly will fix the prob.It almost seems like a wire is shorting out somewhere,Possibly a relay issue?I dunno
 


Pull the radio. I'm wondering if he put in an aftermarket radio, hacked the harness and confused the dimmer lead for a power lead and it's backfeeding the lights.
