Intercooling Vs. Gen V M90

I've saved up about a grand to spend on go fast stuff. I've decided to either go for a FSIC or a Gen V m90 swap (Have 02 GTP). Not sure which one will give me more bang for the buck, I believe the Gen V is helluvalot better than the gen 3 m90 being lower heat, more efficient, etc. But will I be better off just intercooling the Gen III instead?

Also is the $400 gen v from zzp a good price? The one on ebay is $900 brand new, no 04+ GTPs in any junkyard near me sadly :c.

Anything else I would need for a gen v swap?

you'll get more out of the ic and a pulley drop. vs just a gen 5.

and screw zzp. find a used gen 5 for 300 or less if you really want one that bad.

if you get a ic you rtv it on, no gaskets needed.

You'll gain way more from an intercooler.

Ed's intercooler are the best. But you will spend around $900 by the time it's all said and done.

I'd hunt both an ic and a gen v used. I gen v swapped, got an mps with a couple pulleys and installed an ic for $700

I may have a Gen V available if you want one. probably around $300 shipped.. I will also have a gen V intake, and garlock gasket for additional charge. I'm not sure what price this stuff goes for. still on 2007 GT running car (not for long).

Yeah guess i'll stick with intercooling, lol where can I find this "eds intercooler"? Can anyone link me lol.

By the end of it I would probably buy a vendors setup . you dont have to hunt for parts. it will probably cost the same in the longrun.

You can put together eds kit cheaper than the vendor, and it works better. Eds core is like 485, plus the heat exchanger, get the spectra cu98 for 85, pump for 100 and then the hoses, fittings and other misc stuff for maybe 50.

No $300 is what it cost me to go from non intercooled to intercooled....

well that's a special case. You must have come across some great deals because that is cheap. You can't say everyone can build a full IC setup for that price.

I'm putting together a VW front mount kit with a radiator and one with the hose, fittings, plug for extra hole in radiator etc.

I have one of these kits already made and just working on details

My kit won't include the pump but those are available from Amazon or eBay.

I would also add that the sseilmnop intercooler core uses 3/4" inlet/outlet, which is bigger than the zzp unit, so there will be much more flow, partially because the hoses are bigger, but also because there will be less pressure in the system that the pump will have to overcome.

Not really. I've come across a lot of nice deals on cores. Then another $200 for fmhe and pump and boom
